Elizabeth loves painting the ordinary in life whether it is people shopping, a pile of rubbish or a poster plastered on a shop front. The urban environment inspires her, she is fascinated by people, what are they thinking? How are they feeling? By painting people going about their business, she celebrates that snapshot of time, making the viewer stop to think about how the small things in life can be interesting. Psychogeography, history repeats itself; every inch of a city have been inhabited by many people over hundreds of years, how does that reflect on the place now? Elizabeth like to think of herself as a modern-day William Hogarth observing her world and painting it.

The city or town is nothing without its inhabitants, the individual or group of people and a pet or two make the urban environment interesting

Underground

The tube in London, transports all walks of life, standing on the platform looking through the windows, you see a moment in time, I slice of life. Sitting across from someone, who are they? what are they feeling and thinking, the journey is a moment of reflection for most

Places of work and industry, hives of activity for many years, the architecture and surrounding of each site is unique to that company, and its location, the beauty and interest is in textures of buildings and their placement in the landscape
